IBMRD was founded in 1986 under the management of Padmashri Dr. Vithalrao Vikhe Patil Foundation, Ahmednagar. The other institutions of this foundation are : Engineering College, Pharmacy College, Medical College, Hospital and Industrial Training Institute. A single campus at picturesque Vilad Ghat measuring 17 acres provides an operational base for these institutions.
